Underfloor Heating consists of pipes buried in screed, or run underneath the floor surface. Heated water is passed through the pipes, tranferring heat directly into the floor. Because the whole area of the floor is warmed, the room is heated more evenly.

The water temperature in an underfloor heating system is typically 45-65°C, compared with the approximate 80°C flow and surface temperature of a radiator system. The floor is warmed to a temperature of 25-28°C, comfortable enough
to walk on, making it ideal for use with a variety
of floor finishes including carpet, lino, hardwood, laminate and stone. Each room in a system, has its own circuit and is individually controlled.

The underfloor heating system has its own pump, temperature blending valve and flow controls. All it needs is a supply of warm water which can be produced by most domestic boilers.

Because of the reduced water temperature needed, not only can you enjoy savings of up to 20% on a boiler driven system, but by using an underfloor system in conjunction with Air Source or Ground Source Heat Pumps, you can reduce your energy bills even further.
